1909-1911 T206 Fielder Jones Portrait Printing Anomaly - Ghost Image and Color Shift!

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $415

Fascinating printing anomaly of Fielder Jones (portrait pose) from the classic T206 White Border series. The card displays a color shift on front which has created a pronounced ghost image of Jones' head and contributed to a multitone front displaying both the dark orange that is common and a lighter yellow-orange base color. Additionally, the color shift has caused almost the entire right border and part of the left border to display a pinkish hue. Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA, the card is well centered with strong corners and a clean, boldly printed Piedmont 150 reverse. The T206 set, affectionately known as "The Monster," is the most popular of all 1910-era sets and is still yielding new and exciting discoveries more than a century after its production. As collectors have become more sophisticated, there has been a growing appreciation for all great rarities and unusual cards associated with this landmark set. This is an unusual printing anomaly that will be very much appreciated by collectors of the various nuances found within this iconic set. Reserve $100. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $415
