1909-1911 T206 Ty Cobb PSA "Authentic" Collection (3 of 4 Poses)

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $6,518

Presented is a collection of T206 White Border Ty Cobb cards representing three of the four Cobb poses within this legendary set. This collection consists of the bat on, bat off, and green portrait variations. Missing only the red portrait variation for a complete assembly of all four Ty Cobb poses. Each of these cards has been encapsulated by PSA or SGC as "Authentic" due to evidence of trimming (all submitted by REA). Purchased by our consignor in the days prior to professional grading, these cards were described as Nr/Mt-Mt at the time and have remained in his advanced prewar-card collection for more than two decades. All three cards display brilliant colors, crisp images, near-perfect centering, and four sharp corners. Each has a flawless, boldly printed Sweet Caporal reverse. The trimming is very subtle on the bat on card and is more noticeable on the other two cards. This trio represents a unique opportunity to acquire extraordinarily attractive examples of these classic Ty Cobb cards, possibly at a modest fraction of the price that similarly attractive, numerically graded examples would command. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $6,518
