1909-1911 T206 White Border, 1911 T205 Gold Border, and 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes Ty Cobb SGC-Graded "Authentic" Trio

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,015

Extremely attractive collection of three different 1910-era Ty Cobb tobacco cards. These three cards, which were purchased by our consignor in the days prior to professional grading and at that time were described as Ex-Mt or Near Mint, are each encapsulated by SGC as "Authentic" (submitted by REA) due to evidence of trimming. 1) 1909-1911 T206 White Border Ty Cobb: Bat off shoulder pose. Sovereign 350 reverse. Presents as Near Mint on front with near-perfect centering, sharp corners, flawless registration, and brilliant colors. The reverse displays residue from album removal. 2) 1911 T205 Gold Border Ty Cobb: Presents as Ex-Mt on front. Perfect centering, near-flawless gold borders, bold colors, and four strong corners (a little more wear in the upper left). Piedmont reverse, centered slightly to the right. The trimming is extremely subtle. 3) 1914 T213 Coupon Cigarettes: Bat off shoulder pose. Sharp corners and brilliant colors. Presents as Excellent. Two small vertical wrinkles, most noticeable from the reverse. Boldly printed Coupon Cigarettes advertisement with light, natural toning to the reverse. This is an exceptional trio, which presents an outstanding opportunity to acquire three classic Ty Cobb cards at a fraction of the price of similarly attractive numerically graded examples. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,015
