1910 E96 Philadelphia Caramel Nap Lajoie PSA EX-MT 6 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $4,148

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Highest-graded example and one of only two at this level! Extraordinary ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie from the E96 Philadelphia Caramel series. A grade of EX-MT is extremely impressive for an E96 as only eight examples (of any subject) have ever graded NM 7 (none higher) out of 610 cards evaluated to date. The E96 set, issued by Philadelphia Caramel in 1910, is one of the most popular and colorful of all "E" card issues and is the follow-up to the E95 Philadelphia issue of the previous year. Nap Lajoie is one of eight Hall of Famers featured in the E96 set and is portrayed in a portrait pose set against a bold red background. As suggested by its impressive PSA grade, the offered example is in tremendous condition, especially compared to most other caramel cards, with a crisp, clean image, bold colors, bright white borders, and four strong corners displaying only slight traces of wear. Centered very slightly to the bottom. The reverse is also spectacularly clean, with a boldly printed red checklist and no signs of caramel staining. This is an outstanding ultra high-grade example of one of the key cards in the set featuring Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $2,500. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $4,148
