1909-1911 E90-1 American Caramel Sam Crawford PSA NM+ 7.5 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $3,259

Graded NM+ 7.5 by PSA (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with none higher! Exceptional ultra high-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Sam Crawford from the classic E90-1 American Caramel set. This is a virtually unheard of condition for any E90-1, let alone a Hall of Famer. Of the 3,603 E90-1 cards of all subjects graded by PSA to date, only eight have been graded NM+ 7.5, and only sixteen cards have graded higher (fourteen NM-MT 8s and two NM-MT+ 8.5). The next highest-graded example of Crawford is an EX-MT 6. E90-1s are noted by collectors for several distinct and colorful cards within the set, and this card of Crawford is no exception. Pictured in a bat-at-ready pose, Crawford is set against a vibrant multicolored background. Bright and crisp with perfectly white borders, four sharp corners, and outstanding centering. The card has a slight natural diamond cut visible on the top and bottom edges. The reverse is entirely clean and well centered. This stunning example of Crawford from this popular set would enhance any E90-1, Hall of Fame, or prewar-card collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $3,259
