1906 Ullman Postcards SGC-Graded Pair: Fergerson & Wiltse

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,133

Pair of SGC-graded postcards from the extremely rare and attractive Ullman Postcards issue. This set of postcards is noteworthy both for its exciting design and great rarity. Produced to commemorate the Giants’ 1905 Championship season, the set features exclusively Giants players. The fronts feature black-and-white images surrounded by a wood-grain designed border. Each card is postally unused and graded SGC VG 40. 1) George Fergerson: well centered and crisp, clean image, light wear to each of the four corners and edges, and a tiny crease in the upper right corner. Clean reverse with scattered age spots present. 2) Hooks Wiltse: clean, crisp image, centered slightly to the bottom, with strong corners and edges displaying only light wear. Overall clean reverse displaying tiny spots along the right edge (when held horizontally as intended) and light areas of toning consistent with corner mounting at one point in time. This very attractive pair of postcards from this very rare issue would make outstanding additions to any postcard, New York Giants, or prewar-card collection. Total: 2 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,133
