1911 M116 Sporting Life Cy Young SGC EX+ 70

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,304

Graded EX+ 70 by SGC (submitted by REA). High-grade example of Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young, one of the key Hall of Famers in the M116 Sporting Life set. Like his portrait card in T206, this card is universally recognized as one of Young's most striking baseball cards. Clean and crisp, both front and back, with four sharp corners and a flawless surface. Centered almost entirely to the bottom, which is all that keeps this card from a higher grade. The black-back Sporting Life advertisement is clean and boldly printed. This card represents an excellent value, in our opinion, especially compared to other quality 1910-era issues featuring Young. (The SMR value for this card in Excellent condition is $900.) This is a high-quality vintage card in an extremely desirable grade that would be a worthy addition to any M116, Cy Young, or classic Hall of Fame card collection. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $1,304
