1911 M116 Sporting Life Tris Speaker SGC EX/NM 80

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,541

Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC (submitted by REA). Featuring a majestic portrait of the legendary outfielder, the Tris Speaker card is one of the key Hall of Famers in the M116 Sporting Life set. Since there is no portrait card of Speaker in the T206 series, this card is all the more appreciated by collectors; it is also universally recognized as one of Speaker's most striking baseball cards from the 1910 era. Clean and crisp, both front and back, with a flawless surface, outstanding centering (with a slight natural miscut along the right edge), and four strong corners displaying light hints of wear under close inspection. The Sporting Life advertisement on the reverse is entirely clean and boldly printed. This card would be a worthy addition to any M116 Sporting Life, Tris Speaker, or Hall of Fame card collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grade is $1,750. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,541
