1902-1911 W600 Sporting Life Frederick Falkenburg SGC EX/NM 80 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,422

Graded EX/NM 80. This card is the only example of Frederick Falkenburg (Washington Senators) from the W600 Sporting Life cabinet-card set graded at any level by either SGC or PSA. It is in remarkably high grade for a W600 Sporting Life cabinet card. Only seven examples (of any subject) have graded higher than EX/NM 80 out of 218 cards evaluated by SGC to date. W600s are one of the rarest sets from the early part of the century, and are one of the most substantial and well-made card sets ever produced. With good reason, they have always been highly prized by serious collectors. Bright, crisp, and perfectly clean, front and back, with strong corners (wear most noticeable in the bottom right), flawless surface, and bold image. The blank reverse is perfectly clean. This is a very striking ultra high-grade example from one of the most important of all twentieth-century sets, which would be a significant addition to any serious sample or prewar-card collection. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,422
