1902 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet Fred Clarke - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,963

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC. This is the only example graded at this level with none higher. Exceptional high-grade example of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Fred Clarke (street clothes) from the very popular W600 Sporting Life cabinet-card set. This is an extremely crisp card with minor wear to the corners, no creases, and near-flawless edges. The blank reverse displays light scattered discoloration but is otherwise perfectly clean. W600 Sporting Life cabinet cards were available only by mail and they are universally recognized as among the most substantial and highest-quality baseball-card sets ever issued. This is a very attractive high-grade example of one of Fred Clarke’s rarest and most striking cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500+. SOLD FOR $2,963
