1955 Brooklyn Dodgers Pennant

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $711

Brooklyn Dodgers pennant dating from the club's historic 1955 World Championship season. The colorful pennant features an image of the iconic "Brooklyn Bum" in the center, to the left of which is a scroll listing the names of the team members. The white lettering reads "Brooklyn Dodgers/National League Champions/1955." The fact that it reads National League Champions and not World Champions probably indicates that it was manufactured for sale during the World Series. The pennant (28 inches) is missing its two tassels and displays tack holes at each corner and the tip. Aside from those two condition anomalies, the piece remains in stunning Near Mint condition. Mounted and framed to total dimensions of 31 x 13 inches. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $711
