1953 Topps #82 Mickey Mantle PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $16,590

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Incredibly stunning ultra high-grade example of Mickey Mantle's second Topps card. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's second Topps card is the key to the 1953 Topps set, and one of the most popular of all postwar baseball cards. This is an exceptionally strong and striking example! Bright and clean, both front and back, with four sharp corners, vibrant colors, and near-perfect centering. It would be hard to find a better-looking example in this grade, and in our opinion, this card would not look out of place in a higher-graded holder. Only twelve examples of this card have ever graded higher out of 2,554 graded by PSA to date. All Mantle cards and 1953 Topps cards should look this extraordinary! This is a tremendous ultra high-grade example of one of collecting's most famous cards, and would be a significant highlight in any 1953 Topps set, any high-grade 1950s Mantle card collection, or any world-class collection of vintage classic baseball cards. The SMR value in the assigned grade is $13,000. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000+. SOLD FOR $16,590
