1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Brooklyn Superbas SGC-Graded Collection (6)

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $4,148

Outstanding collection of six different T204 Ramly cards, each graded and encapsulated by SGC, featuring exclusively members of the Brooklyn Superbas. One of the most elegantly designed card issues ever produced, T204 Ramlys are noted for the distinctive fancy gold-embossed borders that surround the oval photographic portraits. They are much rarer than most other tobacco-card issues from the 1910 era and are particularly condition sensitive due to their easily chipped gold borders. This collection consists of the following: Alperman (EX/NM+ 82, 1 of 1), Bell (EX+ 70), Dunn (EX+ 70), Hummell (EX/NM 80), Lumley (EX/NM+ 82, 1 of 1), and Sebring (EX/NM 80). This is an exceptionally attractive collection of cards from one of the most classic and visually appealing of all prewar-card issues. The equivalent SMR value for this collection (factoring in the half grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $3,170. Total: 6 cards. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500+. SOLD FOR $4,148
