Presented is an exceptional "Mars Attacks" 55-card blank-backed color-process proof sheet, featuring a complete set of all 55 cards. These proof sheets were used by the printer to proof the colors prior to authorizing the printing of production quantities. The offered proof sheet features the blue and yellow color processes, which combine to create green, and is accompanied by a mylar overlay that adds the black print (including card numbers and title) to each of the cards, which is particularly ideal for display. This very sheet was instrumental in manufacturing the legendary 1962 "Mars Attacks" set, and was retained by Topps until sold at the famous Guernsey's Topps auction in 1989. The cards on the sheets have miraculously survived in essentially flawless Mint condition. Visually impressive, and possibly unique, this sheet grades Near Mint overall. The sheet measures approximately 22 x 29 inches and has been professionally matted in black and turquoise, which provides an outstanding complement to the colors on the sheet, to dimensions of 30 x 36 inches. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $1,541
