1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Joe Tinker SGC VG/EX 50

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,370

Graded VG/EX 50 by SGC (submitted by REA). Presented is Hall of Famer Joe Tinker (Chicago Cubs) from the prized T204 Ramly series, one of the premier tobacco-card issues of the era. The Ramly series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all the tobacco-card issues, appreciated by collectors both for its rarity and distinctive style. Tinker is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. The card is extremely well centered, with tiny touches of wear on the corners and virtually flawless gold borders. The portrait is particularly crisp. A small, almost imperceptible wrinkle in the upper right corner is responsible for the modest technical grade. Clean both front and back, with a boldly printed reverse. This is an outstanding example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set, and one that presents far superior to its assigned grade. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $2,370
