1936 The Three Stooges Whoops I'm An Indian Title Lobby Card

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $5,333

Title lobby card from the 1936 Three Stooges short Whoops I'm An Indian. In this short, the Stooges' eighteenth for Columbia, the boys disguise themselves as Indians to escape detection from angry townspeople they had previously swindled. All paper from 1930s Stooges films are rare and this example is no exception. This is the first lobby card from this film that we can recall seeing at public auction. The card (14 x 11 inches) displays a tiny pinhole in three of the corners, and a staple hole in the fourth. There is a barely noticeable area of triangular toning in each corner that is probably the result of the card's having once been mounted with photo corners. A small crease is evident in the lower left corner. It should be noted that all of these flaws are quite unobtrusive and the card displays an overall Excellent to Mint appearance. Reserve $2,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $5,333
