1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Miller Huggins SGC NM 84

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $4,740

Graded NM 84 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with just one higher. Presented is Hall of Famer Miller Huggins (Cincinnati Redlegs) from the prized T204 Ramly series, one of the premier tobacco-card issues of the era. The Ramly series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all the tobacco-card issues, appreciated by collectors both for its rarity and distinctive style. Huggins is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. The card is perfectly centered, with virtually no traces of wear on the corners. The portrait is flawless and particularly crisp. Perfectly clean both front and back, and with a boldly printed reverse. This is an extremely attractive and simply outstanding high-grade example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set. The equivalent SMR value for the assigned grade is $7,750. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $4,740
