Super Bowl XLVI New York Giants vs. New England Patriots Game-Used Football
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,659
Presented is an exceptional, game-used football from Super Bowl XLVI, certified and authenticated by PSA/DNA. This piece is documented as #38 of 51 Patriots-branded footballs used during the game, which pitted the New York Giants against the New England Patriots for the second time in four years. Held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the game provided fans of these two immensely popular franchises with plenty of drama right down to the last whistle. The Giants ended up winning by a score of 21-17 thanks to brilliant defense in the final minutes which stopped the Patriots' drive and protected the lead established by a perfectly executed series of passes from Eli Manning to Mario Manningham during the previous possession. The ball bears the official NFL and Super Bowl XLVI logos and remains in excellent condition, displaying light game use and the referee's initials "T.C." in Sharpie underneath the Wilson name. Accompanying the ball is correspondence from the National Football League confirming that the ball originated directly from them as a donation to a youth football league charity auction. Game-used Super Bowl footballs are rarely offered for sale publicly, and the additional provenance (coupled with the PSA/DNA certification) makes this even more appealing. This is an outstanding piece of game-used Super Bowl memorabilia, perfect for any fan of football, the New England Patriots, or the New York Giants. LOA from PSA/DNA. Reserve $500. Estimate (open).
