1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Kid Elberfeld SGC NM 84 - 1 of 1!

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,133

Graded NM 84 by SGC (submitted by REA). Stunning ultra-high grade example of Kid Elberfeld (misspelled Elberfield on the card, New York Highlanders) from the T204 Ramly series. This is the ONLY example graded at this level by SGC with just one higher. Ramlys are among the most condition-sensitive sets in existence, with fragile gold borders easily susceptible to chipping. The offered example is free of any evidence of chipping along the borders and displays only very minor traces of wear at the corners. Perfectly centered with a clean, crisp image, four strong corners, and a boldly printed reverse. There is a small area of excess print above the oval portrait (entirely unobtrusive and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). This is an extremely attractive example that would be a significant addition or upgrade to any T204 Ramly or vintage-card collection. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $2,133
