1915 Cope Bros. & Co. Boxers PSA-Graded Partial Set (75 of 125)

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $1,541

Presented is a partial set of 1915 Cope Bros. & Co. boxing cards, comprised of seventy-five of the 125 cards in the complete set. Each card is graded and encapsulated by PSA. Cope cards are extremely difficult to collect in high grade as their black borders are particularly susceptible to wear to the fragile corners and edges. PSA Grading Composite: NM 7 (7 cards): #4 (OC), 8 Sullivan (highest graded), 16, 26, 68, 69, and 103. EX-MT+ 6.5 (1 card): #60. EX-MT 6 (41 cards): #3, 7, 11, 12, 15, 18, 21 Corbett (one higher), 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 37 Johnson, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47, 48, 50 Carpentier, 52, 53, 56, 57, 58, 59, 61, 62, 70, 72, 73, 74, 75, 99, 102, 105, 106, 109, 112, 118, and 119. EX+ 5.5 (5 cards): #29, 34, 38, 46 Jeannette, and 71. EX 5 (10 cards): #6, 19 Kilrain, 23, 39 Fitzsimmons, 49, 63, 106, 110, 111, and 114. VG-EX 4 (4 cards): #10, 51, 65, and 97. VG+ 3.5 (2 cards): #5 and 80. VG 3 (4 cards): #25, 95, 98, and 101. GOOD 2 (1 card): #77. This is very impressive group of these popular boxing tobacco cards, assembled over a period of many years by an extremely dedicated collector, which would serve as an outstanding foundation for the assembly of a complete set or the upgrading of a set already in progress. The total SMR value for sixty-seven of the seventy-five cards (not including the one qualified card and the seven cards graded less than VG-EX, and factoring in the six half-grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $2,000. Total: 75 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $800++. SOLD FOR $1,541
