1911 T225 Khedival "Prize Fight Series 102" Complete Set (25): #2 PSA Set Registry!

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $593

Outstanding full-color complete set of c1911 T225 "Prize Fight Series 102." These cards were issued with cigarette brands produced by The Khedival Company. One card was inserted in each pack of cigarettes. Each card has been graded and encapsulated by PSA. This set ranks second on the PSA Set Registry with an overall weighted GPA of 3.06. Of special note, this is a matched-factory set in that each of the twenty-five cards is a "Factory 348 - stats listed" variation (there are a total of five different back variations within the Khedival brand T225s in addition to the Surbrug brand advertising backs which can also be found on these cards). The PSA grades are as follows: One EX 5: Gannon. One VG-EX+ 4.5: Hogan. Five VG-EX 4: Kline, O'Brien, O'Keefe, O'Toole, and Sullivan. Two VG+ 3.5: Devlin and Nitchie. Eight VG 3: Allen, Carey, Donovan, Houck, Loughrey, Mansfield, Sayers, and Willetts. Two GOOD+ 2.5: Hayes and Langdon. Five GOOD 2: Beebe, Cobb, Corbett, Erne, and Hirst. One PR 1: Robson. Boxing cards represent an outstanding value compared to vintage baseball cards from the same era. This set in particular is one of the highlights of all boxing-card collecting. Even for the most advanced collectors, it is hard not to appreciate the exceptional quality and design of this set, in addition to its rarity, which is no doubt related to the fact that the Khedival Company was a very small and obscure tobacco company. This is an extremely attractive complete set of one of the premier boxing issues of the era. Total: 25 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $593
