1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Eddie Collins SGC EX/NM+ 82

Starting Bid - $1,000, Sold For - $4,148

Graded EX/NM+ 82 by SGC (submitted by REA). This is the ONLY example graded at this level with just one higher. Outstanding ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins (Philadelphia Athletics) from the prized T204 Ramly series, one of the premier tobacco-card issues of the era. The Ramly series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all the tobacco-card issues, appreciated by collectors both for its rarity and distinctive style. Collins is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. The card is perfectly centered with extremely light hints of wear at the most extreme tips of three corners. The portrait is flawless. Perfectly clean both front and back, and with a boldly printed reverse. This is an outstanding high-grade key Hall of Famer from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set. The equivalent SMR value for an EX-MT 6 is $3,900. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,500+.
