1973-1975 Hank Aaron Signed Pro-Model Bat
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,541
Hank Aaron H&B signature-model ("A99") bat dating from the 1973-1975 manufacturing period. The bat, which is not cracked, displays little-to-no use and there is minor age spotting on the reverse of the barrel. Aaron's uniform number ("44") is written on the end of the knob in black marker. Also written on the knob in pencil is the bat's original weight ("34"). Aaron has signed the bat in black Sharpie "Best Wishes/Hank Aaron" on the sweet spot of the barrel, with both the salutation and signature grading "10." This bat dates from the historic three-year period which culminated in 1974 with Aaron passing Babe Ruth as baseball's all-time home-run king. Despite the glory he received that summer, the Braves unceremoniously traded Aaron to the Milwaukee Braves during the off-season, and he finished his remaining two years in baseball primarily as a designated hitter. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 33.6 ounces. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,541
