1953 Brooklyn Dodgers Souvenir Pinback
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $948
Large-style souvenir pinback (3.5 inches in diameter) commemorating the Dodgers' 1953 National League Championship season. The Dodgers’ identification as “National League Champions” (as opposed to “World Champions,” which unfortunately did not happen as they were defeated by their crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees) suggests that this impressive souvenir pinback was likely produced to be sold at the stadium during the 1953 World Series. The blue print is bold and crisp. The image is also crisp and clear with Jackie Robinson clearly standing in the second row, third from the left. There are very few large photographic team pins from the early 1950s. Each is a classic. The 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers is an especially historic team, making this very attractive stadium souvenir pin of potential interest to Dodger collectors as well as pinback collectors. Excellent condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $948
