1934 Louis Feuchter Original Baseball Artwork

Original watercolor painting (4.25 x 5.75 inches; most likely on board) by noted Chesapeake Bay artist Louis J. Feuchter (1885-1957). Signed and dated by the artist, "L. F. 1934," in pencil in the lower right corner. The painting features three uniformed players positioned in field, with a warehouse and factory smokestacks pictured in the background. Feuchter was noted for his paintings of boats and the Maryland shore region. This is a rare baseball work and only the second example we have seen. Today, Feuchter's works can be found on display in a number of prominent venues, including the Mariner’s Museum, the Maryland Historical Society, the Calvert Marine Museum, and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. In apparent Mint condition. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 12.5 x 14 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,185
