Circa 1950s Ebbets Field Usher/Vendor's Cap with Badge

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $3,851

While it is uncertain whether or not this side cap (commonly referred to as a garrison cap) was worn by a stadium usher or concession vendor, its place of origin is made explicit by the white embroidered "Ebbets Field" stitched on either side. A small, white pin, reading "Dodgers 481" remains. This is an extremely rare Ebbets Field artifact and the only example of this style usher/vendor's cap we have ever seen. The cloth cap (size 7 1/2) displays moderate wear commensurate with its age and former use, including a few tiny holes. Also evident are a few slightly larger holes that were probably the result of the pin having been repositioned on the cap a number of times. In Excellent condition overall. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $3,851
