1935 Lou Gehrig I Can't Get to First Base With You Sheet Music

Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $415

In the world of baseball sheet music, probably no player had more songs dedicated to him than Babe Ruth. While that probably comes as no surprise, it obviously irked Lou Gehrig's wife, Eleanor, who, in 1935, took it upon herself to finally write and dedicate a song to her husband. Offered here is an example of that musical homage, titled I Can't Get to First Base With You. The cover features a large photo of Gehrig in uniform, as well as a smaller portrait image of Eleanor Gehrig. Written by Fred Fisher and Mrs. Lou Gehrig. Published by the Fred Fisher Music Co., New York. The sheet music (9 x 12 inches) displays minor corner wear and is in apparent Excellent condition overall. Mounted and framed to total dimensions of 15.5 x 18.5 inches. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $415
