Two Circa 1900 Baseball-Motif Andirons

These extremely detailed cast-iron figural andirons depict a baseball pitcher and batter, respectively. Both are stamped "RBS/09" on the reverse. These are classics in the antique world, and have long been prized by both baseball and folk-art collectors. Ideally, each includes its original back stand. These are exceptional examples of baseball figural art, ideal for display. Both are in Excellent to Mint condition overall. As a point of reference, the only other pair of these distinctive andirons we have handled sold for $4,350 in our May 2004 auction (Lot 679). Dimensions: 20.25 (height) x 8 (width) inches.
