1935 Detroit Tigers World Champions Team-Signed Ball with Greenberg and Cochrane

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $830

To read more about the provenance of this ball, please click here.

Red-stitched baseball signed in blue ink by the following eleven members of the 1935 World Champion Detroit Tigers: Greenberg (alone on a side panel), Cochrane, Gehringer, Goslin, Rowe, Hogsett, Walker, Reiber, Fox, Owen, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from "6" to "10," averaging "7/8." The date, "Sept. 9. 1935," is printed in vintage blue ink on the sweet spot. The Tigers and Senators met on that date at Griffith Stadium in Washington, where the Tigers won by a score of 5-4. Greenberg went 3-4 in the game, while Hogsett picked up the victory in relief of General Crowder. The ball displays moderate-to-heavy soiling (none of the manufacturer's labels are visible) that is consistent with its having been a game-used ball (as are nearly all of the balls in the B. C. Clark Collection; see introduction for full details and provenance). In Very Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $830
