3,000 Hit Club Single-Signed "Stat-Ball" Collection (19)

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $1,304

Collection of nineteen single-signed balls, each individually signed by a different member of the elite 3,000 Hit Club. What makes this collection unique is that each player, in addition to signing the ball, has also included his career hit total either under or next to his name. It should be noted that only twenty-eight players have ever totaled 3,000 or more hits. This collection includes nineteen of the twenty-one modern-day players in the Club, missing only Roberto Clemente (he died in 1972, just four months after recording his 3,000th hit, on the last day of the season) and Derek Jeter. All of the balls are either official Major League (Selig), American League (Budig), or National League (Coleman) balls and have been signed in blue or black ink across the sweet spot, with the signatures grading "9" or "10." Sixteen of the balls display varying degrees of minor age toning, otherwise all are in Near Mint condition overall. Ideally, eleven of the balls have been graded by PSA/DNA, while four others are accompanied by individual COAs from either PSA/DNA or JSA. The players represented here are Willie Mays (PSA/DNA - NM-MT 8), Hank Aaron (PSA/DNA - MINT 9), Stan Musial (PSA/DNA - MINT 9), Tony Gwynn (PSA/DNA - GEM MT 10), Dave Winfield (PSA/DNA - MINT+ 9.5), Rickey Henderson (PSA/DNA - MINT+ 9.5), Paul Molitor (PSA/DNA - NM-MT+ 8.5), Rod Carew (PSA/DNA - NM-MT+ 8.5), Wade Boggs (PSA/DNA - MINT+ 9.5), Cal Ripken Jr. (PSA/DNA - MINT+ 9.5), Eddie Murray (PSA/DNA - MINT+ 9.5), Al Kaline (PSA/DNA COA), Lou Brock (JSA COA), Robin Yount, George Brett, Pete Rose ( COA), Rafael Palmiero (PSA/DNA COA), Carl Yastrzemski (JSA COA), and Craig Biggio (TriStar Authentic COA). Total: 19 balls. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,304
