1953 and 1954 Bowman Football Original-Owner Collection (197 cards)

Original-owner collection of 197 early football cards, consisting of seventy-four 1953 Bowman and 123 1954 Bowman cards. Among this totally unpicked collection are twenty-eight Hall of Famers, including several key rookie cards, highlighted by Otto Graham. We have selected three cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. 1) 1953 Bowman (74 cards): Condition is 22% Ex-Mt or better, 46% Ex, 18% Vg-Ex, and 14% factory miscut and missing an entire border (presenting as Ex or better otherwise). Keys: #1 LeBaron (Vg-Ex), 6 Walker (miscut, missing one border), 9 Motley (Ex+), 11 Van Brocklin (1/99 T/B, otherwise Ex-Mt), 15 Lavelli (Ex), 17 Trippi (miscut, missing one border), 20 Conerly (Ex+), 21 Layne (Ex+), 22 Hirsch (Ex+), 23 Finks (Ex), 24 Bednarik (99/1 L/R, otherwise Ex), 26 Graham (NM+ 86), 32 McElhenny (Ex), 43 Gifford SP (NM 84), 53 Tunnell SP (Ex+), 56 Tittle (Ex+), 73 Pihos (miscut, missing one border), 95 Groza (1/99 T/B, otherwise Ex), and 96 Cross SP (Vg-Ex+). 2) 1954 Bowman (123 cards): Condition is 12% Nr/Mt, 41% Ex-Mt, 35% Ex, and 12% Vg-Ex (including a few Vg). Keys: #4 Atkins RC (Ex+), 8 Van Brocklin (Ex-Mt), 23 Blanda RC (NM 84), 40 Graham (Nr/Mt), 42 Tittle (Ex-Mt), 53 Layne (Nr/Mt), 55 Gifford (Ex), 76 Nomellini (Vg-Ex), and 128 Lattner (Vg). An attractive and very substantial group of classic early 1950s football cards, with many highlights, representing an original childhood collection.
