1951 Topps Magic Football Complete Set (75)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360
Complete 75-card set of the second major football-card series ever issued by Topps, highlighted by Vic Janowicz's rookie card. These colorful cards, honoring college football stars, were issued the same year as Topps’ Connie Mack All Stars and Current All Stars, as well as the 1951 Topps Red and Blue Back baseball sets. This is a very sharp-looking mid-grade set, with 80% ranging from Vg-Ex to Ex and 20% grading Vg. Fifty-nine cards are entirely scratched off on the back, while the remaining sixteen are 75% or more unscratched (with minor nicks and scratches). This set is fairly well-centered (normally a common flaw with this issue). Keys: #1 Monohan RC (Ex, 80% unscratched), 2 Wade RC (Vg), 4 Parilli RC (Gd/Vg, 80% unscratched), 10 Janowicz RC (Vg-Ex), 12 Weatherall RC (Vg+), 19 Campbell RC (Gd/Vg), 30 Rechichar RC (Vg-Ex), 37 Marlow (Vg-Ex), 48 Young RC (Vg-Ex), 72 Bright RC (Ex, 95% unscratched), and 75 Carey RC (Ex). An extremely attractive complete set of this substantial and colorful early Topps football issue. Total: 75 cards. SOLD FOR $360
