Collection of twenty-one different cards (4.25 x 8.5 inches), similar in design to the "H813" Boston Garter series, issued by the Helmar Brewing Company This is undoubtedly one of the most attractive of all Helmar card sets and one that artfully captures the spirit of the originals. It should be noted that this issue was only produced during the two-year period 2012-2013 and has been completed, with forty-five cards comprising the complete set. All of the cards bear a "2012" copyright stamp on the reverse. Total production was limited to just 20 sets. The twenty-one players represented here are Frank Baker, Chief Bender, Roger Bresnahan, Frank Chance, Burleigh Grimes, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Addie Joss, "Wee Willie" Keeler, Nap Lajoie, Connie Mack, Rube Marquard, Christy Mathewson, Chief Meyers, Tris Speaker, Joe Tinker, Rube Waddell, Honus Wagner, Ed Walsh, "Smokey Joe" Wood, and Cy Young. As a point of reference, the average price total realized in sirraffles' past weekly eBay auctions for the twenty-one cards in this collection is in excess of $2,500. Like all of the Helmar issues, these cards were intentionally produced with a distressed look, with most having rounded corners and rubbed edges. Near Mint condition overall. Total: 21 cards.
