1983-1985 George Brett Signed Pro-Model Bat

George Brett Louisville Slugger signature-model ("T85") bat dating from the 1983 to 1985 manufacturing period. Brett's initials and uniform number, "G5B," are written on the knob in black marker. Signed by Brett in blue Sharpie (grading "9") on the sweet spot of the barrel. The bat, which is not cracked, displays moderate-to-heavy use throughout, including numerous ball marks on the barrel, rack marks, and light pine tar on the upper handle. Although a ten-year veteran at the time, Brett was still considered one the best hitters in baseball between the years 1983 and 1985, batting .310, .284 and .335, respectively, in those three seasons. Brett also hit a career-high 30 home runs in 1985. He finished his career with a .305 lifetime average and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999, his first year of eligibility.
