1909 E92 Croft's Candy Patsy Dougherty - Interesting Printing Anomaly!
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $360
Fascinating and unusual 1909 E92 Croft's Candy example of Patsy Dougherty (Chicago White Sox) featuring a miscut front, which reveals a small portion of the neighboring card on the sheet, Hall of Famer Eddie Collins. E92 Croft's Candy cards share designs with several other closely related candy issues (Dockman & Sons, Nadja Caramels, etc.) from the same era and are among the most popular of all early caramel issues. The offered example, which is graded and encapsulated FAIR 20 by SGC due entirely to the miscut, is bright, crisp, and clean, presenting as Ex-Mt without respect to the centering. Vibrant colors and sharp corners, with a perfectly clean and boldly printed reverse. Value is always subjective, but in this case, because of its uniqueness, it is particularly difficult to estimate. We are confident the auction process will provide clarity. This is a very interesting card that is sure to intrigue collectors of E92s and error cards alike. SOLD FOR $360
