1950s Red Man Tobacco Advertising Posters Complete Set (3)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $720

Complete set of all three Red Man Tobacco baseball advertising posters from the early 1950s featuring, respectively, Ralph Kiner, Enos Slaughter, and Johnny Mize. Full color and perfect for framing. Sets of these posters have virtually disappeared from the marketplace since their discovery in a significant find in the early 1990s. Even when they were first discovered and readily available years ago, few realized that the find did not consist of equal quantities of each poster. Many hundreds of Kiner posters were discovered, but far fewer posters of Mize, and even fewer of Slaughter, making complete sets of all three far rarer today than some collectors realize. Each poster is printed on thin paper stock and measures 11 x 15.5 inches. All display a few extremely minor flaws, including tiny surface wrinkles (nearly all of which are only visible when viewed at certain angles), minute edge tears, and, in the case of the Mize poster, a tiny age spot in the lower right corner. In Excellent condition overall and perfect for display, as originally intended. Total: 3 posters. The items in this lot are part of the deaccessioned property of a prominent northeast museum which has selected Robert Edward Auctions to handle the sale of donated sportscards and memorabilia in an effort to fund purchases more in line with the mission and goals of the museum. SOLD FOR $720
