Pair of 1920s Player-Endorsed Store-Model Bats - Ty Cobb and Fred Leach

Pair of store-model bats dating from the 1920s, each bearing the endorsement of a lifetime .300 hitter. 1) Ty Cobb H&B signature-model "250" bat dating from the 1921-1931 labeling period. An additional stamping, just to the left of the center brand, reads "Weather Seasoned/Hand Bone Rubbed." Heavy use is displayed throughout, including deadwood on the front and back of the barrel, chips to the barrel end and knob, and a handle crack repaired with a vintage nail. A portion of Cobb's facsimile signature is affected by a small chip. Length: 33 inches. Weight: 32.4 ounces. 2) Fred Leach Spalding signature-model No. 200 "Autograph Series" bat dating from the 1926-1934 labeling period. Heavy use is displayed throughout, including an extremely flattened hitting surface on the back of the barrel, checking, a wrap of vintage black tape on the handle, and rack marks. Also, a small hole was drilled through the bat, just the left of the center brand, that was later plugged. In Good condition overall. Length: 34.5 inches. Weight: 36.6 ounces. Total: 2 bats.
