Two Mickey Mantle Signed 1988 "East Coast National" First-Day Covers

Presented are two different first-day covers issued to commemorate the first East Coast National Baseball Card Show, held in White Plains, New York, on August 19, 1988, each signed by Mickey Mantle and a number of other players. This was an extremely historic show at the time, with several very prominent former players in attendance for signing. 1) First-day cover featuring illustrations of Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson, and Catfish Hunter, signed by each of these stars in blue ink (grading "10"). 2) First-day cover featuring generic illustrations of Yankee ballplayers, signed in either blue ink or blue Sharpie (all grading "10") by Mickey Mantle, Catfish Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Duke Snider, Whitey Ford, and Jerry Grote. Each first-day cover (6.5 x 3.5 inches) displays a small area of adhesive residue on the reverse and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. SOLD FOR $240
