1954 New York Yankees Team-Signed Ball

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $960

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-five members of the New York Yankees: Mantle, Berra (sweet spot), Ford, Rizzuto, Slaughter, Morgan, Coleman, MacDonald, Byrd, Cerv, Skowron, Schallock, Konstanty, Branca, Sain, Noren, Bauer, Miranda, Robinson, Lopat (sweet spot), Carey, McDougald, Reynolds, Silvera, and Collins. The ball is also signed by longtime Yankees announcer Mel Allen (on the ball label). The blue-ink notation "1955 Yanks" is written on a side panel. (Despite that year designation, the combination of signatures on this ball conclusively dates it to the 1954 season.) Signatures range from "7" to "9," averaging "8." The ball has been coated with a thin layer of protective shellac and is otherwise in Excellent to Mint condition. This is an outstanding New York Yankees team ball dating from the franchise's "golden age" during the 1950s. Full LOA from PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. SOLD FOR $960
