High-Grade 1942 Pittsburgh Pirates Team-Signed Baseball with Honus Wagner, Al Lopez, and Frankie Frisch

Official National League (Frick) baseball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-one members of the 1942 Pittsburgh Pirates: Honus Wagner (coach, grading "9"), Frisch (Mgr.), Lopez, Sewell, Anderson, Van Robays, Stewart, Dietz, Wilkie, Fletcher, Gustine, Phelps, Elliott, DiMaggio, Butcher, Klinger, Lanning, Wasdell (sweet spot), Coscarart (sweet spot), Gornicki, and Colman. Signatures range in grade from "7" to "10," averaging "8/9." All of the official ball stamps are bold and clear. Near Mint condition. Honus Wagner was a coach with the Pirates from 1933 to 1951 and Pirates team balls from that period that include his signature are highly prized by collectors. This is undoubtedly one of the finest such examples extant, featuring a near flawless Wagner signature on the side panel of a Near Mint ball. SOLD FOR $2,400
