1939 Johnny Evers Signed First-Day Cover - PSA/DNA

Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $3,900

1939 Baseball Hall of Fame first-day cover signed in black fountain pen by Johnny Evers. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, which has graded the signature MINT 9. The envelope bears a "Jun 12, 1939, Cooperstown N.Y." postmark and a three-cent Baseball Centennial stamp. Evers is best known today as the second baseman in baseball's most famous double-play combo "Tinker to Evers to Chance." Fittingly, all three players were elected to the Hall of Fame in 1946. Evers died less than one year later, resulting in the scarcity of his signature today. This is an ideal signature example on an outstanding item. The envelope (6.5 x 3.5 inches) is in Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA.
