2000 Upper Deck Yankees Legends Legendary Lumber #RM-LC Roger Maris Signature Cut #6/9 PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,200

2000 Upper Deck "Legendary Lumber" card of Roger Maris, featuring both a cut signature of Maris and a piece of wood from a Roger Maris game-used bat on the front. Graded "NM-MT 8" by PSA. Maris' signature appears in black ink upon a small, unlined sheet and grades "9/10." The piece of the game-used bat, which has been cut into the shape of the New York Yankees interlocking "NY" logo, appears in the upper left corner. The handwritten limitation number "6/9" appears on the front in blue marker. The card, which is part of the company's "Yankees Legends" series, is designated "RM-LC" on the reverse. It should be noted these special signature cards were greatly limited in number and were normally issued randomly in packages of regular cards. However, because they are actual cards, they have always been highly prized by collectors, over and above the intrinsic value of the signatures themselves. This is an outstanding high-grade example of one of only nine Maris "Legandary Lumber" cards issued by Upper Deck in 2000. LOA from James Spence/JSA. SOLD FOR $1,200
