1964 Topps Complete Set (587)
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $7,800
Grades 48% Nr/Mt or better, 36% Ex-Mt, and 16% Ex. Fresh, crisp, extremely consistent, high-grade complete set of 1964 Topps. The 1964 Topps set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers of the era, and also includes several extremely popular multiplayer cards featuring great legends of the early 1960s. Consigned by the family of an old-time collector, this set has been carefully stored away for decades and was very likely assembled directly out of packs in the year of issue. This is a beautiful set with many high-grade cards. We have selected eight cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #21 Berra (Nr/Mt), 35 Mathews (Ex), 50 Mantle (NM+ 86), 55 Banks (Nr/Mt+), 120 Drysdale (Nr/Mt), 125 Rose (NM+ 86), 150 Mays (Ex), 155 Snider (Ex), 177 Killebrew (Nr/Mt-Mt), 200 Koufax (NM 84), 210 Yastrzemski (NM/MT 88), 225 Maris (NM/MT+ 92), 230 B. Robinson (Nr/Mt-Mt), 250 Kaline (Ex), 260 F. Robinson (Ex+), 300 Aaron (NM/MT 88), 306 Mays/Cepeda (Nr/Mt), 331 AL Bombers Mantle/Maris (NM 84), 342 Stargell (Nr/Mt+), 350 McCovey (Nr/Mt+), 380 Ford (Nr/Mt+), 400 Spahn (Ex-Mt), 423 Aaron/Mays (NM 84), 440 Clemente (Ex), 460 Gibson (Ex), and 541 Niekro RC (Nr/Mt+). All cards are bright and fresh, appearing to have been pulled straight out of packs, with centering the only noticeable fault on many of the lesser-graded cards. Extremely sharp, high-grade, uncommonly strong set of this 1960s Topps issue. The equivalent SMR value for just the eight graded cards (factoring in the three half-grades at the lower whole-grade level and not including the 579 ungraded cards!) is $1,360. Total: 587 cards.
