1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle

Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $9,000

Graded GOOD+ 2.5 by PSA. One of card collecting's greatest classics, Mantle's Topps rookie card is the key to the 1952 Topps set, one of the most famous of all cards, and the single most popular and valuable postwar baseball card. This is a very attractive example in an extremely desirable and relatively affordable grade. It is rare to find such a nice-looking 1952 Topps Mantle rookie in what is technically only Good+ condition. The card is bright and crisp, with bold colors and a clean front and back. Light, scattered wear to the surface is visible on front but does not detract from the card's overall appearance at all. Centered to the right with even wear to the four corners and a light, one-inch-long crease extending from the left edge. This card presents a rare opportunity to acquire an attractive example of Mickey Mantle's most celebrated card at a small fraction of the cost of a higher-grade example. SOLD FOR $9,000
