1961 Post Cereal Complete Set (200)

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,680

Complete set of one of the 1960s great classics: 1961 Post Cereal. This complete set of 200 cards is comprised of both company cards (73%, perforated cards available on sheets directly from Post via mail-in offer) and box cards (27%, available on cereal boxes and intended to be hand-cut). Overall condition is 85% Ex to Ex-Mt with 15% Vg to Vg-Ex (including two lesser). The preceding grades, as well as those in the composite below, are without respect to the neatness of the cut of box cards, as almost all of them are cut inside of the borders and would only qualify for "Authentic" if submitted for professional grading. Three cards are graded and encapsulated by PSA. Keys: #1 Berra (company, Vg-Ex), 4 Mantle (company, EX 5), 7 Maris (company, Vg-Ex), 10 McDougald (box, Ex), 22 Wynn (company, Ex-Mt), 23 Shaw (box, Vg), 35 Kaline (box, Ex), 73 Estrada (company, EX 5), 75 B. Robinson (company, Ex), 92 Killebrew (company, Ex), 93 J. Lemon (box, Ex), 94 Stobbs (company, NM-MT 8 [MC]), 106 Mathews (box, Ex), 107 Aaron (company, miscut, otherwise Ex), 132 Clemente (company, Ex), 135 Virdon (box, Vg+), 145 Mays (box, Vg-Ex+), 147 McCovey (box, Vg-Ex+), 163 Roach (box, Vg), 167 Snider (company, Ex), 182 F. Robinson (company, Ex), 183 McMillan (box, Ex), and 193 Thomas (box, Vg-Ex). This is a very attractive complete set of this scarce package-design issue, which is underrated and, compared to other sets of the era, extremely difficult to find as a set. Total: 200 cards.
