1952 Bowman #22 Willard Ramsdell Original Card Artwork

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,700

This is the actual original painting used to produce card #22 of Willard Ramsdell of the Chicago Cubs from the 1952 Bowman series. The Bowman sets from the early 1950s are highly regarded, in part for their use of original paintings. This is a magnificent example of an original Bowman artwork used in the production of this classic baseball series. As is always the case with these original early 1950s card artworks, there are standard production-related glue remnants on blank reverse. Accompanied by an example of the issued card. This is an outstanding original card artwork. Clean and crisp with bright colors. The artwork measures 6.25 x 4.25 inches and is in overall Excellent condition.

The items in this lot are part of the deaccessioned property of a prominent northeast museum which has selected Robert Edward Auctions to handle the sale of donated sportscards and memorabilia in an effort to fund purchases more in line with the mission and goals of the museum.
