16% Ex-Mt, 69% Vg-Ex to Ex, and 15% Vg (with a few slightly lesser). Complete set of 320 cards highlighted by many Hall of Famers, including Mantle, Aaron, Mays, Kaline, and Banks. Twenty-seven cards are professionally graded (eighteen PSA and nine SGC). Keys: #1 Wilhelm (EX-MT 6), 10 Rizzuto (SGC EX/NM 80), 22 Campanella (EX-MT 6), 23 Kaline (EX-MT 6), 33 Fox (EX-MT 6), 37 Reese (EX-MT 6), 38 Wynn (Vg-Ex+), 59 Ford (EX 5), 60 Slaughter (SGC EX/NM 80), 65 Zimmer RC (Ex), 68 Howard RC (EX 5), 103 Mathews (SGC EX/NM 80), 130 Ashburn (Vg-Ex), 134 Feller (EX+ 5.5), 158 Hodges (SGC EX/NM 80), 168 Berra (Vg+), 169 Furillo (Vg-Ex), 171 Roberts (Vg-Ex), 179 Aaron (EX 5), 184 Mays (EX 5), 191 Lemon (Vg-Ex), 197 Kiner (Vg), 202 Mantle (SGC EX/NM 80), 242 Banks (SGC EX/NM 80), 265 Barlick (Vg-Ex+), 283 Chylak (Vg-Ex+), 303 Conlan (EX-MT 6), and 315 Hubbard (Vg). Ten additional graded cards: #9 McDougald (SGC EX/NM 80), 98 (SGC EX/NM 80), 132 (EX 5), 235 (EX 5), 259 (EX-MT+ 6.5), 260 (EX 5), 267 (EX 5), 272 (EX 5), 302 (SGC EX/NM 80), and 304 (EX-MT 6). The 1955 Bowman issue (Bowman's final baseball-card set) has always been very popular due to its classic "television" style and inclusion of so many stars. The flush-to-the-border wood-grain design of these cards makes them very susceptible to corner and edge wear, and very difficult to assemble as a complete set in high grade. Overall a very consistent complete set, with only a few problem cards that could easily be replaced. Overall an extremely strong and attractive set across the board. This is the type of vintage set that to so many collectors represents the very best value. The total SMR value for just the twenty-seven graded cards (not including the additional 293 ungraded cards!) is $1,794. Total: 320 cards. SOLD FOR $2,160
