1948 Bowman Complete Set Minus One (47/48)

Offered is a complete set minus one (47 of 48 cards) of 1948 Bowman, the first baseball-card set issued by Bowman Gum, highlighted by key rookie cards of many stars and Hall of Famers. Missing only #47 Thomson for completion. Condition: 38% Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt, 49% Ex, and 13% Vg-Ex (including two cards that may be sheet-cut). Nine cards have been graded and encapsulated by PSA (all submitted by REA). Extremely attractive and consistent complete set (minus one) of Bowman's first baseball-card set and one of the most important gum-card issues of the postwar era. The SMR value for just seven of the nine graded cards (not including the Berra RC and Feller, each graded VG-EX, and also not including the additional thirty-eight ungraded cards!) is $1,235.
