1939 R334 Play Ball #26 Joe DiMaggio

Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $540

Graded EX 5 by PSA. 1939 Play Ball #26 Joe DiMaggio featuring the "Yankee Clipper" in a portrait pose. One of card collecting's great classics and one of the keys to the 1939 Play Ball set, the 1939 Play Ball Joe DiMaggio is universally recognized as one of the most popular of all prewar baseball cards. This striking example features a crisp image, centering to the left, and even wear to the four corners (more pronounced in the upper right). We grade this card slightly more conservatively than PSA (Vg-Ex+, which did not exist at the time this card was graded, would be our grade). The reverse features bold black text and near-perfect centering. A very attractive example of one of the key cards of the era. SOLD FOR $540
