1934-1936 R327 Diamond Stars Complete Set (108)

Starting Bid - $800, Sold For - $4,500

12% Ex or better, 18% Vg-Ex, 31% Vg, and 39% lesser. Attractive mixed-grade complete set of this classic 1930s gum-card issue, which is highlighted by thirty-three Hall of Famers and, of course, includes all twelve of the rare high-number series cards (#97-108), which have always made this issue so difficult to complete. We have selected seven cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Grove (VG/EX 50), 2 Simmons (Vg), 3 Maranville (Gd), 9 Cochrane (Vg), 11 Dickey (Gd), 14 Terry (Fr), 16 Waner (Gd/Vg), 17 Frisch (Gd/Vg), 18 Hafey (Gd), 27 Traynor (possible slight trim, otherwise Vg-Ex), 28 Lopez (Vg-Ex), 29 Rolfe (Vg+), 30 Manush (Vg-Ex), 31 Cuyler (Pr/Fr), 32 Rice (Ex), 35 Averill (Ex+), 36 "Earnie" Lombardi (Fr), 36 "Ernie" Lombardi (Vg), 39 Hubbell (EX+ 70), 43 Lyons (EX+ 70), 44 Hornsby (EX 60), 48 Ferrell (NM 84), 50 Ott (NM 84), 54 Greenberg (Gd/Vg), 59 Bottomley (Vg), 60 Ruffing (NM 84), 63 Jackson (Fr), 64 Foxx (Fr), 66 Medwick (Vg), 74 Lazzeri (Vg), 77 Gehringer (Vg), 83 Waner (Gd/Vg), 91 Harris (Vg-Ex+), 95 Appling (Vg), 97 Lopez (Vg), 98 (Pr), 99 Traynor (Fr/Gd), 100 Averill (Fr), 101 (Pr), 102 (Pr), 103 Dickey (Gd), 104 Rolfe (Vg), 105 Lombardi (trimmed, otherwise Gd/Vg), 106 (Fr), 107 (Pr), and 108 Berger (Pr/Fr).
